J.B. Smoove an east coast stand-up comedian, actor and writer better known for his unforgettable role as Leon Black in HBO’s “Curb your Enthusiasm.” Leon is Larry’s profane, raunchy loudmouth roomie that’s not afraid to speak his mind and bring the “ruckus” to the ladies. From 2003-2007, J.B. was also a writer for the famous show Saturday Night Live, showing his skills and charisma with hilarious ideas for numerous sketches. More recently you’ve seen Mr. Smoove in the acclaimed FOX comedy show “Till Death” along side with Brad Garret.
All that experience in the world of comedy gave him the opportunity to get on the big screen in films such as Mr. Deeds with Adam Sandler, and Date Night with Steve Carell and Tina Fey. J.B. is currently working on the comedy film “Hall Pass” that is scheduled to come out in theatres next year, as well as hosting the stand-up comedy series “Russell Simmons Presents: Stand-up at The El-Rey” on Comedy Central.
As for his stand-up comedy, J.B. it’s a comedian that’s very real and likes to connect with his audience, kind of like Leon. In other words, Smoove is not satisfied with just chuckles, he won’t stop until he is getting gut bursting laughter from the crowd.
